Objectif officiel

The Post, Telecommunications and Information Technologies Sector Adjustment Programme (PASPT&I) was developed by the Moroccan government and jointly supported by the Bank and the World Bank as a result of several structural adjustment programs since the mid-1980s. Through the opening of the telecommunications market to competition, it aims to improve the sector's contribution to economic growth and job creation. This liberalization, initiated during the program, was essentially due to the opening of the market, with the admission of a second GSM operator and the opening of the private capital of IAM. It is expected as results: greater access to telecommunications services at competitive prices for the national economy and the global market; an improvement in the quality of service and an increase in the telephone density.
