Objectif officiel

The overarching goal with the global programme 2025-2026 is that the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation, together with its partner organisations, strengthens the role of civil society to drive a just, equal, and inclusive global transition—reducing climate impact, enriching biodiversity, alleviating poverty, and expanding civic space. Of the long-term goals described in the Future Strategy, the Global Program will contribute to the following: Target area 1 - A rapid and just climate transition Objective 1.1 - A renewable and flexible energy systems Objective 1.2 - Reduced greenhouse gas emissions from production, consumption, and land use Within the target area the work aims to combat climate change and strive for a fair energy transition. Much focus is placed on increasing the role and voice of civil society in international forums where climate change is addressed. Target area 2 - Vibrant and healthy land-based ecosystems Objective 2.1 - Sustainable use and functional protection of tropical forests Objective 2.2 - Rich agricultural landscape and sustainable food systems Objective 2.3 - Reduced negative impact of mining and more resource efficient value chains Within the target area the work aims to strengthen biodiversity and increase sustainability in forestry, agriculture, and mining. Many activities within this target area are directly relevant to food security and livelihood opportunities. There is a strong focus on increasing the role and voice of civil society in international forums where biodiversity is addressed. Target area 3 - Healthy aquatic ecosystems Objective 3 - Sustainable utilisation of oceans and functional marine protected areas Within the target the work aims to strengthen coastal communities' rights and access to fishery resources and to ensure that small-scale fishing is not undermined by unsustainable industrial fishing. The target area also aims to engage in the emerging Blue Economy with the aim of protecting the rights of vulnerable people. Target area 4 - A toxics-free environment and human health Objective 4 - Regulation of substances hazardous to the environment and people’s health Within the target area the work aims to phase out chemicals that are harmful to the environment and health, and to strengthen the regulation of chemicals at local, national, and international levels. This is done, among other things, by strengthening the role of civil society in international convention work relating to chemicals and in national information and regulatory work. Target area 5 - Environmentally conscious people in sustainable communities Objective 5.1 - A fair and just global economy that delivers well-being within planetary boundaries.
