Support to PowerUp! Network and Community of Champions

Objectif officiel

PowerUp! was launched in 2018, with the aim of strengthening the capacity of National Rnewable Energy Associations (NREA) to effectively represent the industry and support the development of sustainable Distributed Renewable Energy markets. The Global Off-Grid Lighting Association (GOGLA) continues to work with NREAs in 18 African markets to build lasting, effective enabling environments; including establishing consultative platforms for public - private sector dialogue, providing data and insights to inform policy decisions and facilitating an NREA platform for collaboration and peer-to-peer learning.The Community of Champions (CoC) was formed as an opportunity for high-level, ongoing exchange between governments, the private sector and development partners to work collaboratively towards creating a supportive policy environment to help achieve universal energy access in Africa. Currently, the CoC is comprised of 24 countries and four regional bodies in Sub-Saharan Africa.
