Antioxidant potential and genomic adaptation of Cetobacterium ceti MaLMAid0298 from the gills of Sebastiscus marmoratus

Jun Won Lee, Jihyun Yu, Y Lee, Hyein Jin et autres

Cetobacterium species are common members of fish-associated microbiomes and have been reported from diverse hosts, ranging from freshwater fishes such as carp and tilapia to marine sciaenids. However, their genomic characteristics and roles in oxidative stress defense remain poorly understood. In this …

Oral PHGG ameliorates atopic dermatitis‐like dermatitis with concurrent modulation of colonic IgA and cecal microbiota: implications for the gut–skin axis

Derrick Kakooza, Hyeonjun Yu, Jonghyun Jeong, Jung Cheul Shin et autres

Abstract BACKGROUND Atopic dermatitis (AD) is increasingly recognized as a systemic inflammatory disorder linked to intestinal immune and microbiome dysregulation. However, whether dietary galactomannan fibers can mitigate AD through coordinated modulation of the gut–skin axis remains unexplored. This study investigated the anti‐atopic …

Upcycling Fermented Adlay Bran Ethanol Extract Residues Promotes Human Dermal Fibroblast Proliferation and Wound Healing

Ji Yun Van, Kyoung Mi Moon, Yerin Seong, S. M. Jeong et autres

Wound healing, critical for skin recovery after surgery, trauma, and chronic damage, proceeds through inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling phases. In this study, we focused on the proliferative phase using fermentation extracts from the residuals of Adlay bran ethanol extraction and their solvent …

Upcycling of Adlay Bran via Lactobacillus Fermentation Enhances Anti-Melanogenic and Antioxidant Activities through MITF/Tyrosinase Pathway Modulation

Kyoung Mi Moon, Min‐Kyeong Lee, Ji Yun Van, Ah-reum Kim et autres

analysis revealed strong binding affinities to tyrosinase. Furthermore, fermentation enhanced antioxidant capacity, as evidenced by DPPH and FRAP assays. Collectively, these findings demonstrate that fermented adlay bran constitutes a sustainable bioactive resource with promising applications in skincare and nutraceuticals.

Rubus occidentalis Ethanol Extract Attenuates Neuroinflammation and Cognitive Impairment in Lipopolysaccharide-Stimulated Microglia and Scopolamine-Induced Amnesic Mice

Ga-Won Kim, Yon-Suk Kim, Tohmina Afroze Bondhon, Rengasamy Balakrishnan et autres

Background/Objectives: Neuroinflammatory mechanisms, primarily mediated by activated microglia, play a key role in the progression of conditions such as mild cognitive impairment associated with Alzheimer’s disease. Rubus occidentalis (R. occidentalis), a black-fruited raspberry native to North America, is reported to possess antimicrobial, …

Reshaping Tumor-Lymph Node Immune Axis via Targeted Lymphatic Delivery of Dual-Functional Immune Modulator for Enhanced Cancer Immunotherapy

Su Yeon Lim, Liu Pin, Ju Hwa Shin, Bum Soo Lee et autres

The efficacy of cancer immunotherapy is often limited by the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) and insufficient immune activation in tumor-draining lymph nodes (TDLN). Since the TME and TDLN form a dynamic axis crucial for tumor metastasis and resistance to immune checkpoint blockade, …

Immune Surveillance in the Peyer’s Patches of Mice After Acute High-Intensity Exercise

Youngju Song, Hong Shik Park, Mi‐Gi Lee, Donggeun Kim et autres

PURPOSE: The immune surveillance theory in exercise immunology suggests that exercise redistributes immune cells to peripheral organs, including the gut. High-intensity exercise temporarily increases intestinal permeability, allowing the translocation of gut bacteria. This study investigated changes in phagocytes, T cells, and Th17 …

A Chloroform Fraction Derived from Vitis vinifera Root Ethanol Extract Attenuates Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Inflammatory Responses and Cognitive Dysfunction in BV-2 Microglia Cells and C57BL/6J Mouse Model

Yon-Suk Kim, Sang-Bong Lee, Woo‐Jung Kim, Dong‐Kug Choi

This study aimed to investigate the inhibitory effect of the chloroform fraction (CF) from Vitis vinifera root extract on LPS-induced neuroinflammation in BV-2 microglia cells and a C57/BL6J mouse model. CF significantly suppressed LPS-induced proinflammatory cytokines, including nitric oxide (NO), tumor necrosis …
