Zircon Systematics of the Shionomisaki Volcano–Plutonic Complex (Kii Peninsula, Japan): A Potential Tool for the Study of the Source Region of Silicic Magmas

Ulrich Knittel, Monika Walia, Shigeyuki Suzuki

The Shionomisaki Igneous Complex is part of the Mid Miocene igneous province developed within the Shimanto Accretionary Complex in front of the volcanic front in SW Japan. The igneous rocks in this province mostly have silicic compositions. New U-Pb ages obtained for …

Superposed remanent magnetization and magnetic fabric in Triassic carbonates of Tethys Himalaya (Jomsom area, Nepal): chronological and tectonic implications

Pitambar Gautam, Kohki Yoshida, Megh Raj Dhital, Shigeyuki Suzuki et autres

Carbonates from three sections in Tamba Kurkur and Mukut Formations near Jomsom in Nepal were investigated for natural remanent magnetization (NRM) and anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (AMS). NRM comprises up to three components: a recent field component (RF) residing on magnetite/maghemite (soft …

Magnetic Susceptibility Measurement To Recognize Geological Characteristics of Rocks : An Example From the Crustal Section in the Northeast of the Yakuno Ophiolite, Japan

Acute and Prolonged Effects of 300 sec of Static, Dynamic, and Combined Stretching on Flexibility and Muscle Force

Shingo Matsuo, Masahiro Iwata, Manabu Miyazaki, Taizan Fukaya et autres

Static stretching (SS), dynamic stretching (DS), and combined stretching (CS; i.e., DS+SS) are commonly performed as warm-up exercises. However, the stretching method with the greatest effect on flexibility and performance remains unclear. This randomized crossover trial examined acute and prolonged effects of …

Effects of High-Intensity Stretch with Moderate Pain and Maximal Intensity Stretch without Pain on Flexibility

Genki Hatano, Shingo Matsuo, Yuji Asai, Shigeyuki Suzuki et autres

In this study, we aimed to identify the time course effects of different intensities of static stretch (SST) (maximal intensity without pain vs. high-intensity with moderate pain) on flexibility. This study included 16 healthy students (8 men and 8 women) who performed …

Application of the novel estimation method by shear wave elastography using vibrator to human skeletal muscle

Wakako Tsuchida, Yoshiki Yamakoshi, Shingo Matsuo, Mayu Asakawa et autres

In recent years, non-invasive measurement of tissue stiffness (hardness) using ultrasound elastography has attracted considerable attention. It has been used to evaluate muscle stiffness in the fields of rehabilitation, sports, and orthopedics. However, ultrasonic diagnostic devices with elastography systems are expensive and …
