DSIF - Burkina Faso - National cloud and Fibre Optic Cable Infrastructure

Objectif officiel

The project will improve access to information and communications technology (ICT), promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialisation and fostering innovation, through construction of a national cloud and fibre optic cable infrastructure. Burkina Faso has embarked on a policy of reforms aiming at the use of ICT to promote the empowerment of the citizens and economic growth. The reforms are aiming at making ICT broadly available and promote its use in society as part of a drive to combat corruption, modernise the public administration and strengthen democracy, decentralisation and the respect and fulfilment of human rights. The project includes optical fibre network at both municipal and inter-urban level as well as a government cloud platform connecting different public organisations.
