Objectif officiel

The Tanzania Digital Economy and Connectivity Initiative (TANTECH) addresses critical gaps in digital infrastructure, governance, and innovation to support inclusive growth and structural transformation in line with the Tanzania Development Vision 2050. Building on the success of the Digital4Tanzania programme, TANTECH promotes the development of secure digital public infrastructure (e.g. the Tanzania Technology Stack), data-driven innovation ecosystems, and regional digital trade systems. The ¿Team Europe¿ initiative, co-funded by the EU and EU Member States (Finland, Estonia, Germany), integrates policy reform, capacity building, and investment facilitation, in line with the Global Gateway strategy.The results chain is structured around three specific objectives:1.Digital Governance ¿ Enhanced e-government service delivery, cross-border data exchange, and last-mile connectivity (e.g. rollout of secure, accessible, citizen-centric services).2.Digital Innovation and AI ¿ Strengthened innovation hubs, open data platforms, and AI integration in public services (e.g. through pilot projects and AI curricula).3.Digital Economy ¿ Operationalisation of inclusive e-commerce ecosystems and cross-border payment platforms (e.g. expansion of TIPS (Tanzania Instant Payment Systems), implementation of AfCFTA Digital Trade Protocol and EAC e-commerce strategy).
