JPD 2026-2028

Objectif officiel

The aim of this contribution is to provide Swedish staff within international organisations. The contribution is in accordance with the strategy for innovation, partnership and capacity development, providing human resources to work with and through the diverse mandates of EU Delegations. For this purpose, Sweden closely collaborates with the EEAS regarding placements in EEAS and European Commission delegations around the world through the Junior Professionals in Delegation program (JPD). Through the program, 9 Swedish JPD's will be placed at EU delegations to contribute to the EEAS and EC activities. The contribution regards the financing of seven (7) Swedish trainees to the EU trainee programme Junior Professionals in Delegation during 2026-2028. In addition to the seven trainees financed by Sida another two Swedish trainees will, financed by the European Union External Action (EEAS) and the European Commission, participate in the program. JPD:s are often viewed as a regular staff member and are, as such, expected to contribute to regular operations. For EC JPD:s this may entail program implementation, while for EEAS JPD:s focus is mainly on political/press function. A JPD may work with all thematic areas that the delegation operates within.
