Objectif officiel

The Women & Youth Employment in STEM sector Event (WYSE) is an annual initiative organised by amongst others United Nations (UN) Women in Tunisia, designed to improve job prospects for female graduates in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The event directly supports over 150 young women while engaging key decision-makers to create lasting change in the labour market.What the Project DoesWYSE brings together government officials, private sector employers, civil society organisations, universities, and financial institutions for a national job fair and career development program. Young women participate in targeted career-building sessions, meet directly with leading STEM employers, and develop professional networks. Simultaneously, the project encourages organisations to adopt gender-inclusive hiring practices.Why It MattersTunisia's STEM sector has limited female participation despite many qualified women graduates. This project addresses the gap by connecting capable women with employment opportunities while simultaneously pushing employers and institutions to commit to gender equality in recruitment and workplace practices.ResultsThe initiative aims to:• Enhance the employability and career readiness of 150+ female STEM graduates;• Establish professional networks between women and employers;• Promote gender-sensitive recruitment commitments from institutions; and• Contribute to gender equality (SDG 5) and decent work opportunities (SDG 8).
