Ushirikiano wa Kijani Project (Phase II)

Objectif officiel

UNDP, in partnership with the Ministry of Energy and with support from the Embassy of Ireland, is implementing Ushirikiano wa Kijani Project Phase II to advance Tanzania’s National Energy Efficiency Strategy 2024–2034. The project builds on the Energy Efficiency Action Plan Project, which concluded in 2025, and the first phase of Ireland-supported activities implemented from July 2025 to June 2026.Phase II will strengthen institutional coordination and national ownership of energy efficiency efforts through support to the Energy Efficiency Unit within the Ministry of Energy, finalization and validation of the Comprehensive Energy Efficiency Action Plan, and continued technical support through recruited National UN Volunteers. The project will also expand women’s participation through the WISE Scholarship Programme, promote policy dialogue and public awareness, support homegrown innovations through innovation hubs, and enhance market readiness for MEPS and energy labelling. Overall, the project supports inclusive, scalable and practical energy efficiency actions aligned with national priorities
