Appraisal of Danish support to Beyond the Grid for Africa

Objectif officiel

The overall objective of the appraisal is a final quality assurance check in accordance to the Danida Aid Management Guidelines, the design and justification of the proposed new engagement of the Beyond the Grid Fund for Africa and interviews with relevant stakeholders. The appraisal will be divided in two stages to cover both grants: (i) first light appraisal of the grant of DKK 37,5 million will carry out a desk-top appraisal of the draft Development Engagement Document including a review of NEFCO as fund facilitator, flow of funds and the governance structure and general set up of the BGFA; (ii) the second appraisal of the grant of DKK 80 million – depending on the confirmation of the finance bill – will carry out a more in-depth desk-top appraisal of the draft Development Engagement Document and appraise in detail the background documentation for the Uganda window based on two scoping studies currently under preparation.
