<p><br></p><p><br></p><p class="ql-align-justify">The overall objective of the Programme is to enhance the sustainable development of the Tanzanian energy sector. Specific objectives are:</p><p class="ql-align-justify">SO 1 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Improved service delivery (Availability, Affordability, Acceptability and Quality) and value for money for the customers of the national utility TANESCO;</p><p class="ql-align-justify">SO2&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Strengthened role of clean energy, conducive business environment and integrated planning in energy policy;</p><p class="ql-align-justify">SO3&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reinforced energy sector knowledge and analysis by stakeholders, including private investors, academia and civil society organizations (gender sensitive).</p><p class="ql-align-justify">&nbsp;</p><p class="ql-align-justify">The purpose of this Addendum, by changing the modality to budget support is to allow EU support to the Energy Sector more cost effectively and with greater ownership by the Government.&nbsp;The budget support would resolve the delays accumulated while contributing to the achievement of the same objectives:</p><p class="ql-align-justify">1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Improved service delivery (Availability, Affordability, Acceptability and Quality) and value for money for the customers of the national utility TANESCO;</p><p class="ql-align-justify">2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Strengthened role of clean energy, conducive business environment and integrated planning in energy policy;</p><p class="ql-align-justify">3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reinforced energy sector knowledge and analysis by stakeholders, including private investors, academia and civil society organizations (gender sensitive).</p><p class="ql-align-justify">&nbsp;</p><p class="ql-align-justify">For what concerns this last objective the implementation modality remains the same (Indirect management with a Member State or International Organization) while the indicative budget is reduced and partially reallocated to the budget support component.</p><p><br></p><p class="ql-align-center">&nbsp;</p><p class="ql-align-center">&nbsp;</p><p class="ql-align-center">&nbsp;</p><p class="ql-align-center">&nbsp;</p><p class="ql-align-center">&nbsp;</p><p class="ql-align-center">&nbsp;</p><p class="ql-align-center">&nbsp;</p><p class="ql-align-center"><br></p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p>
