Zambie – Programme mondial de tarifs de rachat pour le transfert d’énergie (GET FiT) – Phase I
Projet national en Zambie, en préparation avec African Development Bank.
Objectif officiel
The GETFiT Zambia – InnoVent Garneton North 20 MW Solar Project is a non-sovereign renewable energy project in Zambia involving the design, construction, operation and maintenance of a 20 MW solar photovoltaic power plant connected to the national grid through a 10 km, 33 kV transmission line. Under a 25-year take-or-pay Power Purchase Agreement, the Zambia Electricity Supply Corporation Limited (ZESCO) will purchase all electricity generated by the plant. The project is one of six projects selected by the Government of Zambia under the Global Energy Transfer Feed-in Tariffs (GETFiT) Programme, which aims to mobilize private investment in small- and medium-scale renewable energy independent power projects. The project will be implemented by InnoVent Garneton North Solar Limited, a special-purpose vehicle registered in Zambia. Its shareholders are InnoVent R-E Zambia Limited (90%), Grégoire Verhaeghe (5%) and Thomas Verhaeghe (5%). The project sponsor is InnoVent SAS, a renewable energy developer and independent power producer. The total project cost is estimated at more than USD 24.5 million. The project’s estimated senior debt requirement is approximately USD 14.521 million. The African Development Bank will act as Mandated Lead Arranger and is seeking to provide a term loan of up to USD 7.27 million, while the Green Climate Fund will provide concessional financing of up to USD 7.27 million, matching the Bank’s contribution. The African Development Bank will act as Executing Entity on behalf of the Green Climate Fund. The financing tenor is 20 years, including a grace period of up to 24 months and an 18-year repayment period. Construction is expected to take 12 months, with commercial operation scheduled for the end of the fourth quarter of 2026. Shanghai Electric was selected as the EPC contractor, while operations, maintenance and asset management will be undertaken by InnoSun. The project company has signed a land lease agreement with Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC), the owner of the Garneton North site. The PPA and Implementation Agreement were signed on 15 August 2025.
