Bénin - Projet d’électrification de dix-sept centres ruraux

Objectif officiel

The present intervention concerns the electrification project of 17 rural centers. It was initiated in 1995 with the completion of a feasibility study funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). The project is part of the implementation of the rural electrification program provided for in the various development plans adopted by the Beninese government for several decades. It involves the construction of a distribution network composed of MV lines (20kV), MV / LV transformer substations, LV networks, public lighting networks and subscriber power connections. Subsequently, the electrification of several localities located near the route of the new network should be supported by the project increasing their number from 17 to 28 localities. The project comprises the following components: (i) Extension of the medium voltage (MV) network of 20 kV; (ii) MV / LV transformer substation equipment; (iii) extension of the LV network and distribution; (iv) Installation of the connections and installation of public lighting hearths; (v) Acquisition of operating and subscriber management equipment; (vi) Studies, control and supervision of works; and (vii) External audit.
