Examining learners’ emotional dynamics in simulation-based education: A systematic mapping review

This systematic mapping review examines how health-professions simulation-based education has studied learners’ emotion trajectories as simulations unfold. It will map simulation contexts, emotions examined, measurement and analytical approaches, theoretical frameworks, and reported connections with learning processes and outcomes. Descriptive mapping will identify patterns, evidence clusters, and gaps. This initial preregistration follows feasibility scoping and records the current review plan, including procedures that remain provisional.
