Résumé fourni par la source

Invariant-Shift Speaking Method (ISSM) is a proposed pedagogical framework developed by Suliman Abdelaty for developing Adaptive Oral Reconfiguration (AOR) in second-language speaking. The framework addresses a limitation of speaking instruction conducted primarily under stable communicative conditions: real-world speakers frequently need to preserve essential meaning, evidence, goals or communicative obligations while adapting their language during an ongoing speaking event. ISSM makes the communicative shift the primary unit of instructional design and operates through the principle KEEP X. CHANGE Y. KEEP SPEAKING. Learners identify what should remain communicatively invariant while selected speaking conditions—including audience, goal, stance, relationship/register, information/evidence and constraints—are systematically changed during live performance. The framework introduces a six-phase instructional architecture: KERNEL → BUILD → SHIFT → CASCADE → TRACE → TRANSFER. It proposes Adaptive Oral Reconfiguration as a multidimensional outcome represented initially through Invariant Integrity, Shift Appropriacy, Pivot Latency and Continuity, with Recovery Control treated as a conditional supplementary dimension. It further proposes a five-parameter Reconfiguration Load model and a direction-standardised Reconfiguration Cost measure for future empirical investigation. Framework Version 1.2 includes the theoretical foundations, novelty boundaries, construct definitions, instructional architecture, syllabus model, assessment procedures, worked lessons, research hypotheses, validation programme, pilot-study specifications, integrity rules and research appendices. ISSM is presented at this stage as a conceptual pedagogical framework under empirical validation, not as an empirically validated or standardised method. Its proposed originality lies in the integration of explicit communicative invariants, controlled mid-performance shifts, graded reconfiguration demands, adaptation diagnosis and transfer testing within a unified L2 speaking pedagogy.
