Abstract Vascular embolization is a pivotal minimally invasive approach for occluding pathological vasculature; however, the risks of coil compaction and incomplete filling continue to pose a significant risk of recanalization. Herein, we propose a magnetically actuated superabsorbent soft microrobot for high-density vascular embolization via single-robot embolization. The microrobot is composed of magnetic nanoparticles and superabsorbent hydrogel. Combining the matrix’s superabsorbent properties with active magnetic steerability, it can achieve a volume expansion of up to 27 times in physiological fluids while maintaining the ability to traverse 3D bifurcated architectures toward precise targets. Specifically, these microrobots can adapt to different types of aneurysms by pre-customizing their shapes, including saccular, fusiform, and wide-neck bifurcated aneurysms, thereby facilitating high-packing-density embolization. By leveraging the synergy between magnetic steerability and hydrogel-driven volumetric expansion, this approach offers a promising technology for complex embolization procedures.
