Le résumé fourni par la source
Treatment-resistant depression (TRD) remains one of the most formidable challenges in clinical psychiatry. Despite the wide array of antidepressant medications, approximately one-third of patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) do not achieve a satisfactory response to these agents [1]. In this context, the neuromodulatory intervention of deep brain stimulation (DBS) offers new hope for patients with MDD. Nucleus accumbens (NAc) and its subregions have been explored as targets for DBS and have shown promising antidepressant effects in clinical investigations [2].
