Le résumé fourni par la source
This study investigated the prevalence of primary teeth fluorosis among children aged 6–8 years in endemic fluorosis areas of Guizhou, China, over 12 years (2008–2020), aiming to evaluate the impact of public health interventions. Cluster random sampling selected four elementary schools in fluorosis-affected regions. Dental examinations (Dean’s Index) and water fluoride analysis (fluoride electrode method) were conducted in 2008 and 2020. Data from 1115 participants were analyzed using chi-square tests and t-tests. Results: Significant reductions in fluorosis prevalence were observed across all schools (p<0.05). The Community Fluorosis Index (CFI) decreased from 1.41 (2008) to 0.23 (2020) in one school. Water fluoride levels remained stable (≤0.19 mg/L), while coal-stove renovations and clean energy policies reduced fluoride exposure from indoor coal combustion. Public health interventions, including stove improvements and energy transitions, effectively reduced primary teeth fluorosis. Moreover, persistent cases highlight the need for sustained efforts, public education, and integrated strategies to eliminate fluorosis in endemic regions.
