Le résumé fourni par la source

Abstract An increasing number of workers experience stress on their jobs, with significant implications for physical and mental health. In response, this book, Designing, Implementing, and Evaluating Sustainable Interventions in Organizations: The How-To of Improving Worker Health and Well-being, uses findings from recent research to offer a systematic approach to improving working conditions and building a work environment that supports health and well-being, so that workers can thrive. Participatory organizational interventions address the underlying root causes of workplace stressors while also giving workers a voice in prioritizing needed changes. This book uses the Nielsen Intervention Model, which includes six intervention phases: Preparation, Evaluation Planning, Screening, Action Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation. To address the complexities of the work environment, this process applies the IGLO model to target multiple levels of influence: Individual (I), Group (G), Leader (L), and Organization (O). Four underlying principles support the participatory organizational intervention process: participation, management support, communication, and organization-intervention fit. Data-driven change uses input from participants to provide a foundation for identifying and prioritizing the working conditions that need to be changed. Realist evaluation offers methods for broadening understanding of what works for whom under what circumstances. Two case studies, in research and practice, provide concrete methods and tools and illustrate how context matters, contributing to understanding variations in the ways in which the process can be planned, implemented, and evaluated. The book also examines the implications of the broader context of social policies and regulatory environments that can strengthen support for healthy organizational work environments.
