The two containment buildings were handled on behalf of and under the general supervision of the project by the U.K.A.E.A. (Engineering Group). The main contractor for the design, construction and testing of the steel building was Whessoe Ltd., and Harland & Wolff Ltd,, were nominated as their sub-contractors for the design, construction and testing of the air-locks. Lloyd's Register of Shipping, Land Division were appointed as Surveyors for the pressure parts of the structures. The main contractor for the construction and testing of the concrete containment building was Turriff Ltd., and Harland & Wolff Ltd., also supplied the doors for this building.
