Digital twin, which integrate multi-physical, multi-scale, and multi-disciplinary attributes through real-time synchronization, virtual-reality interaction, and high-fidelity modeling, enable the seamless integration of physical entities with their digital counterparts and have garnered significant attention in both academia and industry, particularly in intelligent manufacturing. This paper presents a systematic literature review of the latest developments in digital twin technology for intelligent manufacturing, focusing on its application in the wooden furniture industry. The review summarizes existing studies, methodologies, and frameworks that have been proposed to address key challenges in the industry. The proposed framework encompasses four key application domains: product design and development, production process optimization and flexible manufacturing, and equipment fault diagnosis and health management. Based on the analysis of existing literature, this review highlights that digital twin technology offers significant opportunities for enhancing efficiency, reducing operational risks, and driving the digital transformation of the wooden furniture industry.
