Mayo Clinic’s Exploration of Barriers to Women in Leadership
Le résumé fourni par la source
Abstract Mayo Clinic conducted an active organizational network analysis to provide novel insights into promoting inclusion, particularly in women’s advancement into leadership positions. Findings revealed gender disparities in network dynamics, with men often in central positions while women remained on the periphery of the network despite their contributions. This analysis also revealed challenges related to workload management, work–life balance, and obstacles new employees face in forming professional connections. Lessons learned underscore the importance of proactive strategies for addressing gender disparities, mitigating work challenges, and supporting new hires. This case illustrates Mayo Clinic’s commitment to equity and diversity in healthcare, utilizing network analysis to foster an engaged and inclusive environment in line with its mission and values.
