In response to the questions raised, we have attempted to further analyze the data to explore the differences in survival between different cancer types and various methods of nutritional intervention. Due to the inclusion of multiple histological tumor types in this study (Table 1), we did not conduct subgroup analyses based on different cancer types. Nutritional interventions in the study were categorized as enteral nutrition, parenteral nutrition, and a combination of both. The research protocol defined nutritional support as any intervention lasting three days or more. We grouped the methods of nutritional intervention as follows: oral nutrition, tube feeding, parenteral nutrition, oral combined with parenteral, and tube feeding combined with parenteral. Survival curves were plotted according to the type of nutritional intervention (Figure 1). As shown in Figure 1A, in malnourished patients (mPG-SGA ≥ 5), the survival curve for those without nutritional intervention is at the bottom, while the survival curves for those with different nutritional interventions intersect and are positioned above it. In non-malnourished patients (mPG-SGA < 5), the six survival curves intersect with each other (Figure 1B). Due to the limitations of sample size and the intersection of survival curves, further analysis of survival was not conducted, as the data did not meet the proportional hazards model assumptions. Currently, the study cohort has reached a sample size of 70,000 cases. We plan to conduct further analyses on the survival of malnourished patients with multiple tumors undergoing different nutritional interventions based on a larger sample size. All the Authors declare that there is no conflict of interest. We sincerely thank the members of the INSCOC Working Group for their outstanding contributions to case inclusion, follow-up, data sorting and data entry.
