On November 20, 2023 in Moscow under the auspices of the All-Russian Public Organization “Russian Scientific Medical Society of Therapists” (RNMOT) a meeting of the Council of Experts was held on the topical issues of the impact of arterial hypertension (AH) on the brain as a target organ. The objectives of the event were to consider the impact of AH on the brain in terms of its cognitive functioning, to discuss the relevance and prevalence of this problem; to determine the role of cognitive deficit in reducing the quality of life of patients; to assess the feasibility of a new approach to the therapy of vascular cognitive impairment (VCI) using the drug ethylmethylhydroxypyridine succinate for primary care physicians.
