Dear editor, In response to the letter ‘Factors associated with hospital admissions in patients with dementia’, we appreciate the valid points that were raised about coexistent comorbidities and we will take them into account in future research. Unfortunately, we did not have access to these data in our study ‘Hospital admissions and emergency department visits for people with dementia’. Our paper ‘Factors Associated with Mortality Including Nursing Home Transitions: A Retrospective Analysis of 25 418 People Prescribed Anti-Dementia Drugs in Northern Ireland’ explored mortality and comorbidity medication in people with dementia in more detail.
