Air Force Utilization of Social Actions Personnel

Abstract : This study proposed to determine the current perceptions of the role of the U.S. Air Force Social Actions office and personnel by persons within Social Actions and their commanding officers. The method employed was a mailed census survey of three populations: Commanding Officers directly responsible for Social Actions offices; Social Actions Non-Commissioned Officers. The return rates were excellent: 85% of the Social Actions NCOs responded. The resulting data supported several conclusions regarding current activities and directions for growth in six areas: equal opportunity and treatment, human relations education, drug and alcohol abuse, qualifications and personnel development, general Social Actions, command support, and job satisfaction Overall, the study strongly indicated that Social Actions is highly credible and important element in the Air Force mission.
