SHAP-interpretable machine learning integrating exposures and multi-omics reveals immune alterations and biomarkers in COPD–lung cancer comorbidity

Yiran Fei, Yue Chai, Shiyuan Tong, Bohao Sun et autres

Introduction: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lung cancer (LC) frequently co-occur and share environmental and biological determinants, yet their cross-scale associations remain incompletely understood. Artificial intelligence and machine learning-based integration of exposome and multi-omics data provide new opportunities for dissecting this …

Tailoring 3D propagation-invariant light via generalized non-annular angular spectrum distributions

Zhen Li (49109), L Wu, Mian Wu, Chao Yang et autres

For propagation-invariant optical fields along a fixed axis, equal longitudinal wavevectors fundamentally dictate an annular angular spectrum. While this physical constraint inherently restricts the design of optical fields, we present a generalized theoretical framework that expands this regime. By deriving the rigorous …

Nanosecond-scale photonic switching with dual time synchronization for fast reconfigurable fronthaul in 5G/6G networks

Bohao Sun, Tongyun Li, Heyang Long, Peng Bao et autres

To address the challenges of time-sensitive fronthaul transmission in next-generation radio access networks (RANs), this paper proposes a nanosecond-scale photonic switching architecture enabled by dual precise time synchronization. A fully packaged tri-layered 8×8 electro-optic microdisk optical switch is designed and implemented, driven …

Ultra-Compact Vertical Fiber-to-Chip Grating Couplers on Silicon-on-Insulator by Inverse Design

Jiahao Li, Xiang Li, Lin Wu, Hongguang Sun et autres

Grating couplers that combine true vertical access, compact footprints, and foundry compatibility are vital for scalable photonic integration. However, conventional designs typically rely on reflectors, long tapers, or fiber tilt to achieve efficient coupling, which limits their practicality. Here, we present three …

Construction and verification of a prognostic model for cervical cancer based on genes associated with the p53 regulatory pathway

Zhaoming Wu, Jing Zhang, Bohao Sun, Yichen Wu et autres

Background: Cervical squamous cell carcinoma (CESC) poses significant health risks, contributing to high mortality rates and economic burdens, particularly in developing countries. The p53 signaling pathway plays a crucial role in the initiation, progression, and treatment response of CESC. This study explored …

Nanosecond Electro-Optic Switching with Time Synchronisation for Fronthaul TSN Applications

Bohao Sun, Tongyun Li, Vaigai Nayaki Yokar, Sen Shen et autres

This paper presents a high-speed photonic switching system with time synchronization, enabling nanosecond switching for time-sensitive fronthaul transmission. Fronthaul performance is measured, demonstrating 33ns switch-on latency and supporting 5G/6G dynamic traffic. ©2024 The Author(s)
