质子交换膜燃料电池（proton exchange membrane fuel cell, PEMFC）将氢气的化学能直接转化为电能，具有能量转化效率高、零碳排放等优点，对于我国实现“双碳”目标具有重要的意义。PEMFC内部过程复杂，传统的理论解析方法难以应用。实验研究也有成本高、周期长等限制，难以满足面向工程应用的快速迭代的研发需求。数值模拟技术已成为面向PEMFC设计的性能预测和参数敏感性分析的有效工具。本文简要梳理了2006年以来国内外PEMFC电堆数值模拟的研究进展，具体内容包括8个部分：1. 膜电极模型，2. 单电池宏观模型，3. 单电池多尺度模型，4. 电堆模型，5. 运行过程模型，6. 系统控制模型，7. 高效分析模型，8. 数值方法在大功率电堆开发中的应用实践。文中提出了以下研究建议：1. 在团聚块模型中考虑电子、质子之间的协同作用；2. 膜电极的数值计算中需要进一步考核描述液态水在多孔电极内传输的毛细力-液态水饱和度关联式的有效性; 3. 为揭示PEMFC中大量参数综合变化对电池输出特性的影响规律，亟待开展相似原理和人工智能的深入应用的研究；4. 需要研究在计算资源可接受的前提下，获得由几百片单电池组成的整个商业规模电堆的完整多物理量分布特性的仿真方法。
