秤量法によって計算した1日タンパク質摂取量の適否を, 全尿によらず1回排尿中の尿素/クレアチニン比 (U/C比と略す) で判定する方法を検討した。1) 1日の全尿を代理する1回排尿試料は, 午前9時以降の最初の尿 (午前1回排尿) のU/C比が全尿のそれと高い相関を示した。2) 午前1回排尿のU/C比は前日の標準体重当りおよび実体重当り1日タンパク質摂取量と高い有意の相関が認められた。3) 20歳までの午前1回排尿のU/C比は, 年齢, 身長, 体重の対数値と片対数の回帰直線となったので, 未成年者では年齢, 体格の近いグループごとに測定したU/C比の平均値から計算した許容限界 (M±2σ) を逸脱する場合は, タンパク質摂取量の過不足者である可能性が高い。ただし, 成人では年齢のグループ分けは不要である。これらの結果から, 午前1回排尿のU/C比測定によって, 個人の前日のタンパク質摂取量の過不足を判定する可能性が示唆された。
