Local structure and lithium-ion diffusion pathway of cubic Li 7 La 3 Zr 2 O 12 studied by total scattering and the Reverse Monte Carlo method

H. L. Tian, Guanqun Cai, Lei Tan, He Lin et autres

The cubic phase of Li 7 La 3 Zr 2 O 12 shows fast diffusion of the lithium ions. Combining total scattering measurements analysed by the RMC method with molecular dynamics simulations gives a detailed picture of the distribution of the Li …

High-pressure neutron diffraction study of magnetite, Fe3O4, nanoparticles

Lei Tan, Andrei Sapelkin, Alston J. Misquitta, Craig L. Bull et autres

We use in situ high-pressure neutron powder diffraction to study elastic properties of Fe3O4 magnetite nanoparticles of different sizes. It is found that nanoparticles are elastically softer than the bulk. Apart from the smallest nanoparticle of diameter 8 nm, the atomic and …

Atomic structure of the continuous random network of amorphous C[(C6H4)2]2 PAF-1

Guanqun Cai, He Lin, Ziqiang Zhao, Jiaxun Liu et autres

In the search for stable materials with high porosity, attention has moved toward atomic networks that utilize molecular linkages. PAF-1, with linkages of biphenyl moieties, forms an amorphous network with phenomenal porosity and stability. Until now there still has been no clear …

Partial wave analysis of ψ(2S)→pp¯η

M. N. Achasov, O. Albayrak, D. Ambrose, F. F. An et autres

Using a sample of $1.06\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{8}$ $\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)$ events collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, the decay $\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p\overline{p}\ensuremath{\eta}$ is studied. A partial wave analysis determines that the intermediate state $N(1535)$ with a mass of $1524\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}{5}_{\ensuremath{-}4}^{+10}\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}/{c}^{2}$ and a width of ${130}_{\ensuremath{-}24\ensuremath{-}10}^{+27+57}\text{ }\text{ …

Observation of Two New N* Resonances in the Decay ψ(3686)→pp¯π0

M. N. Achasov, D. Ambrose, F. F. An, Q. An et autres

Based on $106\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}\ensuremath{\psi}(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII facility, a partial wave analysis of $\ensuremath{\psi}(3686)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p\overline{p}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ is performed. The branching fraction of this channel has been determined to be $B\mathbf{(}\ensuremath{\psi}(3686)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p\overline{p}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}\mathbf{)}=(1.65\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.03\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.15)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$. In this decay, 7 ${N}^{*}$ intermediate resonances are observed. …

Evidence for the Direct Two-Photon Transition from ψ ( 3686 ) to J / ψ

M. N. Achasov, D. Ambrose, F. F. An, Q. An et autres

The two-photon transition $\ensuremath{\psi}(3686)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}J/\ensuremath{\psi}$ is studied in a sample of $1.06\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{8}$ $\ensuremath{\psi}(3686)$ decays collected by the BESIII detector. The branching fraction is measured to be $\mathbf{(}3.1\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.6(\mathrm{stat}{)}_{\ensuremath{-}1.0}^{+0.8}(\mathrm{syst})\mathbf{)}\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$ using $J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ and $J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ decays, and its upper limit is estimated to be $4.5\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$ at the …

Determination of the number of J/ψ events with J/ψ → inclusive decays

M. N. Achasov, D. Ambrose, F. F. An, Q. An et autres

The number of J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII from June 12 to July 28, 2009 is determined to be (225.3±2.8) × 10 6 using J/ψ →inclusive events, where the uncertainty is the systematic error and the statistical …

Study of J / ψ → p p ¯ and J / ψ → n n ¯

M. N. Achasov, D. Ambrose, F. F. An, Q. An et autres

The decays $J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p\overline{p}$ and $J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}n\overline{n}$ have been investigated with a sample of $225.2\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ $J/\ensuremath{\psi}$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collider. The branching fractions are determined to be $\mathcal{B}(J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p\overline{p})=(2.112\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.004\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.031)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}3}$ and $\mathcal{B}(J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}n\overline{n})=(2.07\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.01\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.17)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}3}$. First observation of the isospin violating decay J/ψ→ΛΣ¯0+c.c.

M. N. Achasov, D. Ambrose, F. F. An, Q. An et autres

Using a sample of $(225.2\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}2.8)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ $J/\ensuremath{\psi}$ events collected with the BESIII detector, we present results of a study of $J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\gamma}\mathit{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}\overline{\mathit{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}}$ and report the first observation of the isospin violating decay $J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\mathit{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}{\overline{\mathit{\ensuremath{\Sigma}}}}^{0}+\mathrm{c}.\mathrm{c}.$, in which ${\overline{\mathit{\ensuremath{\Sigma}}}}^{0}$ decays to $\ensuremath{\gamma}\overline{\mathit{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}}$.
