3′-Amino modifications enhance the antifungal properties of N 4 -alkyl-5-methylcytidines for potential biocides

A set of 3′-modified N 4 -alkyl-5-methyl-2′-deoxycytidines has been synthesized and evaluated for biological activity. The replacement of the 3′-hydroxyl group with amino, aminoethyl and dialkylamino groups significantly enhances antifungal activity.
