Room‐Temperature Synthesis of Strongly Confined Lead Halide Perovskite Quantum Dots

Anna Abfalterer, Yuzhen J. Zhou, Roshini Jayabalan, Julian Holzinger et autres

ABSTRACT Colloidal quantum dots (QDs) are promising for light‐emitting applications, but their synthesis under ambient conditions remains challenging. Here we present a rapid, room‐temperature (RT) method that produces highly stable QDs within minutes using the zwitterionic ligand 2‐ammonioethyl 2‐octyl‐1‐dodecyl phosphate (OD‐PEA). The …

Synthetic Surface Design of Transparent Electrodes for Enhanced Molecular Contact in Perovskite Solar Cells

Rik Hooijer, Sunwoo Kim, Sinja Klenk, Hao Zhu et autres

ABSTRACT Self‐assembled molecules (SAMs) as a molecular charge selective contact and interface with metal oxides are the new benchmark in p‐i‐n devices. Yet, transparent electrode (i.e., ITO) surface preparation is often performed with established protocols that do not exploit the full potential …

Perovskite solar cells with enhanced thermal fatigue resistance under extreme temperature cycling

Cem Yilmaz, Ali Buyruk, Yating Shi, Sergej Levashov et autres

Metal halide perovskite solar cells combine high power density with low-cost manufacturing, but durability under repeated extreme temperature cycling remains insufficiently understood. We investigate thermal fatigue under cycling between -80 °C and +80 °C as an accelerated stress protocol. Mismatched thermal expansion …

Elucidating the origin of open‐circuit voltage in ternary organic solar cells with a nonfullerene and a fullerene acceptor

Dominic Blätte, Marcella Günther, Carlito S. Ponseca, Andreas Weis et autres

Abstract With organic solar cells surpassing 20% efficiency, the focus is shifting toward understanding the more complex mechanisms in ternary blends. This work investigates the distinct working principles of ternary organic solar cells based on a polymer donor (D) and a nonfullerene …

Tuning the surface nanoroughness of the recombination junction for high-performance perovskite–silicon tandem solar cells

Yifeng Zhao, Esma Ugur, Arsalan Razzaq, Thomas G. Allen et autres

Tuning the nanoroughness of ( n )nc-Si:H in bottom cells controls SAM anchoring and work function shifts in monolithic perovskite–silicon tandems. Enhanced nanoroughness improves interface quality and fill factor, enabling efficiencies up to 32.6%.
