High Impact Programme for the Corporate Sector

Objectif officiel

The programme aims to facilitate a transformative shift of energy-intensive industries, agribusinesses and the mining sector to a low-carbon pathway by promoting the uptake of high climate impact technologies and stimulating behavioural change at the corporate governance and management level. • The programme is GCF’s first at-scale investment to incentivize the uptake of low-carbon technologies in the industrial sector by promoting technology transfer and financing potentially process disruptive energy efficiency and low carbon investments. • The financing structure is tailored to overcome the initial reluctance of managements to disrupt existing industrial processes and adopt state of the art industrial technologies. • The programme will ultimately contribute to enhancing commercial viability of low-carbon investments by driving more corporates to commit to a potentially disruptive climate investment decisions, thereby creating economies of scale.
