Establishment of a Low-Carbon Energy Model Based on Biogas in Tanzania

Objectif officiel

The AFRI-DIGESTER of this proposal is a technology that provides inexpensive and sustainable renewable energy that can alternatively operate existing solid fuels. This technology can reduce dependence on solid fuels by producing biogas by utilizing organic wastes such as cow dung locally, and increase the energy accessibility of Tanzanian residents as a sustainable energy source. By reducing the use of charcoal and firewood through the production of cooking biogas, it prevents forest damage, reduces air pollution, and reduces the amount of carbon dioxide generated by burning solid fuel, which greatly contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This is consistent with the realization of carbon neutrality to overcome the climate crisis and the energy accessibility and sustainability goals of the CTS program.
