Sao Tome et Principe - Projet de réhabilitation, de renforcement et d'extension des réseaux de transport et de distribution d'électricité à Sao Tomé (Electricité I)

Objectif officiel

The project for the rehabilitation, reinforcement and expansion of transport networks and electricity distribution in Sao Tome, referred to as "Electricity 1", is a facet of the Emergency Programme for the reinforcement of the electricity infrastructures (PURIE) of the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe and the plan for the technical, financial and commercial restructuring of EMAE. PURIE was defined on the basis of the study of the master plan of Sao Tome’s electricity network funded by the European Investment Bank. The project requires the implementation of construction, assembly and connection works, and the provision of services for (i) engineering, control and supervision of the works, (ii) technical assistance to the company's accounting and electricity distribution departments. The expected results are 5 30/6 kV substations reinforced or built, 13 new MV/LV transformer substations and 60 others rehabilitated and/or reinforced, 15 km of MV lines and 80 km of LV lines installed and 4,110 LV subscriber connections. At the institutional level, it is expected that cost accounting will be implemented and general accounting will be strengthened, as well as maintenance procedures and operational safety instructions will be developed.
