Soudan du Sud - Projet de réhabilitation et d’extension du réseau de distribution d’énergie électrique de Djouba

Objectif officiel

The Power Distribution and Rehabilitation Project (PDSRE) aims to strengthen distribution networks in Juba to ensure a reliable electricity supply from existing and future generation facilities. It was initiated because of the low level of electricity production, combined with inefficient distribution networks in the Juba region. It is a project that also aims to compensate for the lost load and to respond to increased demand in the city. Improving and strengthening the electricity supply will help improve the quality of service provided by the national electricity company and the quality of life of the residents, as well as facilitate business activity, thereby contributing to growth economic and poverty reduction in South Sudan. The total estimated cost of the project, initially of UA 17.80 million, has been revised upward in view of its shortfall. The project includes: (i) the construction of 145 km of 33 kV lines; (ii) the construction of 370 km of 415/230 volt lines; (iii) the construction of subscriber lines to connect 20,000 new customers; (iv) the purchase and installation of 195 33 / 0.415 kV transformers; and (v) the purchase and installation of 20,000 prepaid meters for newly connected customers.
