Guinée - Deuxième projet de réhabilitation et d’extension des réseaux électriques de Conakry

Objectif officiel

The Conakry Electricity Network Rehabilitation and Extension Project 2 (PREREC2) is based on the priority actions of the electricity sub-sector's recovery plan emanating from the diagnostic study conducted in 2011. The restructuring of this sub-sector and the Electricity Company of Guinea (EDG) as well as the settling of a strategic partnership through a management contract, are at the center of these priority actions. The PREREC2 aims to contribute toward improving governance and commercial management of EDG, support the Government in reforming of this sub-sector, and extend the electricity distribution network to 12 districts of the Ratoma and Matoto municipalities in Conakry. It is a follow-up to near-completion Project 1 (PREREC1) within 30 other districts of the same municipalities, and which execution has significantly improved the quality of electricity supplied to consumers. The overall cost of the PREREC2 is UA 21.65 million, and its execution runs from 2013 to 2017.
