Objectif officiel

Project Development Objective (Note: will be disclosed in the MOS) The project w ill support three key objectives: (a) participatory articlation and implementation of a strategy for poverty redcution; (b) implementation of public expenditrue programs in key poverty reduction sectors, underpinned by increased donor coordination and shared goals for poverty reduction; and, (c) increased efficiency, transparency and accountability of public resource management. The project will support three key activities; (a) a more streamlined role of the State and increased participation of beneficiaries to policy formulation, financiing, and delivery of public services; (b) increased impact ofpublic expenditures on poverty reduction by basing allocation of pub lic resources on a comprehensivedatabase on poverty and development, and monitoring poverty outcomes; (c) enh anced efficiency and sustainability of poverty reduction through improved public resource management and gene ration of public savings. T he decision meeting will determine whether t his project will be a single operation disbursed in three tranches or three single tranche operations for a total amount of $60 million dollars.
