ANALISIS PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) TERHADAP EFEKTIVITAS PENYUSUNAN KARYA ILMIAH MAHASISWA

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) has brought significant changes to various aspects of life, particularly in the academic field. However, quantitative studies measuring the extent to which AI use affects the effectiveness of students’ scientific writing, particularly in computer science-related disciplines, remain limited. This study aims to analyze the effect of artificial intelligence use on the effectiveness of scientific writing among students in computer-related study programs at higher education institutions in Purwokerto. The study employed a quantitative method using a survey approach involving 103 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS. The results showed that AI use had a positive and significant effect on the effectiveness of students’ scientific writing, with a relatively strong contribution to the observed variation in effectiveness. These findings indicate that AI can serve as an effective supporting technology in the academic activities of computer-related students, provided that its use is accompanied by strong academic integrity and continued emphasis on the originality of scientific work. This study also highlights the importance of higher education institutions developing AI literacy policies that promote responsible use, enabling students to optimize the benefits of this technology without compromising their critical thinking skills and the originality of their scientific work. ABSTRAK Perkembangan pesat kecerdasan buatan (AI) telah membawa perubahan signifikan di berbagai bidang kehidupan, khususnya dalam dunia akademik. Namun, studi kuantitatif yang mengukur sejauh mana penggunaan AI memengaruhi efektivitas penyusunan karya ilmiah mahasiswa, khususnya pada rumpun ilmu komputer, masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan artificial intelligence terhadap efektivitas penyusunan karya ilmiah mahasiswa program studi rumpun komputer di Perguruan Tinggi Purwokerto. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei terhadap 103 mahasiswa yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling, menggunakan kuesioner tertutup berskala Likert yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan regresi linear sederhana dengan bantuan SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan AI berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap efektivitas penyusunan karya ilmiah mahasiswa, dengan kontribusi yang tergolong kuat terhadap variasi efektivitas yang teramati. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa AI merupakan teknologi pendukung yang efektif dalam aktivitas akademik mahasiswa rumpun komputer, asalkan penggunaannya disertai dengan integritas akademik yang kuat serta tetap mengedepankan orisinalitas karya ilmiah. Penelitian ini juga menegaskan pentingnya institusi pendidikan tinggi menyusun kebijakan literasi AI yang mendorong penggunaan secara bertanggung jawab, sehingga mahasiswa dapat memanfaatkan teknologi ini secara optimal tanpa mengorbankan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan orisinalitas karya ilmiah mereka.
