This research presents the results of a non-probabilistic, targeted sampling study conducted jointly by the Technological, Industrial and Services High School No. 12 (CBTis 12) and the Technological, Industrial and Services Studies Center No. 34 (CETis 34) in the state of Michoacán, Mexico, and the National Technological Institute of Mexico, Aguascalientes Technological Institute campus (TNM/ITA). This study justifies the correlation that exists between the variables of study habits and socio-emotional resources. There is a need to measure the level of academic success of first-semester high school students. The aim is to have a standardized census to identify the strengths and areas for improvement in the incoming student population. The indicators will serve as a guide for teachers to develop teaching strategies that reinforce learning experiences in their classes and school assistance programs, thus offering higher quality education. The most outstanding results are identified in study habits, encompassing the skills and activities related to the following dimensions: DRS_3 - I carry out projects focused on civic engagement of various kinds (.633). DRS_1 - I participated in school transformation projects such as health and environmental campaigns, among others (0.602). DRS_5 - I exercised during recess (0.566). DCFC_5 - I avoided consuming foods high in sugar and fat (0.551). DRS_8 - I participated in health-related forums or fairs, such as clean-up days, awareness campaigns, and the construction of a school cafeteria (0.500).
