Breaking Up with Big Tech: A Manifesto for Sexual and Reproductive Health, Rights and Justice

Big Tech companies frequently and relentlessly violate sexual and reproductive rights. Many SRHR organisations have engaged in accountability work with Big Tech only to be faced with platform gaslighting, ethics-washing, and performative consultations. In this Manifesto, we stop wasting time trying to make Big Tech ‘better’, and instead turn inwards, tending to our own social movements. We offer home remedies for heartbreak, using rupture as an opportunity to honour our grief, practice radical acceptance, trust our intuition, reclaim our experiences, re-discover our boundaries, ground ourselves and set new intentions. In the face of toxic bromances between tech moguls and fascist politicians, and a time of increasing criminalization and a coordinated anti-rights agenda, we channel our collective rage into revolutionary seeds to nourish our communities, build coalitions, and dream of more liberatory futures for sexual and reproductive health, rights and justice.
