Le résumé fourni par la source
The German Cardiac Society (DGK) hereby proposes an update of the curriculum for the acquisition of the additional qualification in specific heart rhythm disorders that follows the requirements of the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA). The purpose is to address the special knowledge, experience and abilities required in this expanding subspecialty. Besides undergoing the additional qualification in specific heart rhythm disorders (24 months), candidates can follow separate tracks for invasive electrophysiology or cardiovascular implantable electronic devices (15 months each). Although training can start early during postgraduate training, the certificate will only be awarded after having been awarded board certification in internal medicine and cardiology. To define a specified level of competence, this document presents the standards for the necessary levels of knowledge and experience as well as practical skills and the minimum numbers required for specified procedures. In addition, the paper describes the requirements for training centers and supervisors. The trainee documents the procedures and other activities in a logbook and the local program supervisor assesses progress. Recertification is needed every 7 years with the exception of certificates already issued according to transitional regulations. The German Cardiac Society is responsible for maintenance of standards and quality control within the program.
