Dataset and analysis materials for the development of the Electroconvulsive Therapy Anesthesia Scale (ECTAS)

This dataset contains anonymized expert-rating data and reproducibility materials supporting the methodological study “Electroconvulsive Therapy Anesthesia Scale (ECTAS): development and preliminary evidence of content validity and internal consistency.” The deposit includes anonymized analytical datasets from two rounds of a modified Delphi process, a data dictionary, reproducible analysis code, analysis output, and supporting documentation. Round 1 included 53 experts who rated eight candidate clinical parameters using a four-point relevance scale. Round 2 included 38 experts who rated the same candidate items on a 0–10 relevance scale. The deposited data allow reproduction of the item-level Content Validity Index (CVI), Cronbach’s alpha calculated from expert item-relevance ratings, and exploratory principal component analyses of the eight candidate items and the four retained pre-stimulation items. Individual-level professional and demographic characteristics were omitted from the public analytical datasets to reduce the risk of indirect participant identification; aggregate characteristics are reported in the supplementary material of the associated manuscript. The deposited analyses characterize expert judgments during preliminary instrument development and should not be interpreted as evidence of clinical internal consistency, dimensionality, construct validity, diagnostic performance, or clinical readiness thresholds of ECTAS in patients.
