Closed-loop optimization in an industrial R&D lab
Résumé fourni par la source
In industrial research and development, autonomous closed-loop reaction optimizers have the potential to significantly accelerate processes, but they must be robust and flexible, encompassing both hardware and software components. This paper presents a versatile system developed and deployed within a research unit of an industrial R&D lab, designed to address a variety of industry-relevant challenges rather than functioning as a one-off demonstrator. Unlike traditional systems that may focus on specific chemical processes, our approach facilitates the optimization of reactions across multiple organic synthesis research groups. We illustrate the system’s capabilities through three case studies, showcasing its adaptability and effectiveness in real-world applications. By prioritizing configurability and reusability, this work aims to contribute to a more sustainable and efficient approach to chemical engineering practices in industrial settings where interdisciplinary collaboration is key.
