Code for Avoidance of a premature bud burst predicts the latitudinal variation of effective chilling temperatures in extratropical trees
Le résumé fourni par la source
This repository contains the five Fortran source code files used in the manuscript “Avoidance of a premature bud burst predicts the latitudinal variation of effective chilling temperatures in extratropical trees”.The programs calculate chilling accumulation, the critical chilling requirement (CHcrit), the timing of endodormancy release (tEDR), and autumn accumulated growing degree days (RAFU) across different upper temperature limits for effective chilling (Tupp). RAFU is calculated as growing degree days above 5°C from tEDR to 31 December and is used to assess the climatic risk associated with premature bud burst. The calculations were based on ERA5 gridded hourly temperature data (0.25° spatial resolution; Climate Data Store of Copernicus, https://cds.climate.copernicus.eu/)
