AD2CP icedraft dataset from Falkensgrund 2023-2024

This is a dataset from a Nortek Signature 500 AD2CP deployed upward looking on the bottom at 20 m depth at Falkensgrund, which is a shoal located approximately 50 km out from the Swedish coast in the Bay of Bothnia. The instrument was deployed between 2023-12-09 and 2024-04-24. The instrument was set up to conduct two parallel measurement schemes simultaneously. The first scheme used the four slanted beams to measure water column velocity profiles and ice velocity with 10 min intervals using 121 pings evenly distributed over 480 s. Cell size for the current profile was set to 2 m. The second scheme collected data of the ice draft at 1 Hz by measuring the distance to the ice bottom with altimeter data. The second scheme also saved echo intensity data in the water column with 1-minute intervals at 2.5 cm vertical resolution and starting 6 m from the instrument.
