Integrated Applications of GIS, Remote Sensing and Machine Learning: International Case Studies
Résumé fourni par la source
Integrated Applications of GIS, Remote Sensing and Machine Learning: International Case Studies is a digital book featuring a selection of peer-reviewed contributions from the International Poster Competition on “Integrated Applications of GIS, Remote Sensing and Machine Learning,” held by the Remote Sensing and GIS Research Center at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman, in collaboration with the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) Oman Chapter and the ICESCO Chair for Machine Learning in Remote Sensing and GIS. Attracting participants from 15 countries, this book brings together 20 selected contributions that reached the final stage of the competition. The featured works illustrate practical applications of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing (RS), machine learning (ML), and related geospatial technologies across a range of disciplines and geographical settings. The case studies address applications in areas including environmental monitoring, agriculture, natural resources, urban and regional planning, natural hazards, infrastructure, spatial data management, and spatial decision-making. Each contribution presents the original visual poster together with an accompanying case-study summary, preserving the character of the competition while providing additional context for readers. This collection serves as an accessible reference for students, researchers, practitioners, planners, and decision-makers interested in the integrated application of geospatial technologies and machine learning.
