The 2025 WHO and UNICEF Estimates of National Immunisation Coverage (WUENIC 2025), released on 15 July 2026, provide an important opportunity to assess the recovery of immunisation programmes in Africa following the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.1 The estimates show that recovery is underway but remains incomplete, uneven, and too slow to achieve Immunisation Agenda 2030 (IA2030) targets.
