Le résumé fourni par la source
Conclusion and practical implications Flammable hydrogen–air mixtures can form in industrial installations during extended shutdowns, pressure loss, local air ingress or abnormal use. Ignition is not inevitable: the mixture must be within the flammability range while an effective ignition source is present. Among the scenarios examined, flashback is the most credible system-level ignition route. The risk is manageable, but not through any single measure. A combination of design choices and operational controls is required, such as, preferably, selecting materials with low gas permeability, minimising stagnant volumes, controlled purging or inerting after a shutdown, a controlled restart, demonstrable protection against flashback, and clear instructions for operators and maintenance personnel. Existing standards and practices already reduce many risks, but do not always address mixture formation in the pipework explicitly. Targeted awareness, clarification of guidance and further research focused on critical appliances are therefore desirable.
